Brendan TallonSenior PartnerBrendan co-founded the Firm in 2000 on his return from Australia and has over 30 years’ experience in practice and industry. He is a full member and fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) since 1992 and holds a Master of Business Administration with distinction (MBA) from Oxford Brookes University.
His MBA final dissertation topic “Leadership styles of CEOs of successful Irish SMEs contributing to their success following the global financial crisis – an exploratory study” remains enormously relevant in these and indeed any times and provided many valuable insights in how to businesses can survive and thrive in times of crisis, financial hardship and recession. |
In the past he worked in business advisory and audit services for PwC in Perth, having trained with one of Leinster’s leading accounting practices. During his time in Australia, Brendan held the role of Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary with a large Australian seafood processing company, during which time Brendan was instrumental in a successful business turnaround/corporate recovery that resulted in the company reporting a profit of A$3m having reported a trading loss of A$3m a mere three years earlier, a A$6m turnaround in profit terms.
Brendan returned to Ireland in 1999 and since then has been providing accounting and taxation compliance and business advisory services to a myriad of Irish and UK SMEs. In this role he works closely with business owners and managers, and with his colleagues in the Firm provides advice and services in business growth, fundraising, M&As, financial management and strategic direction.
Brendan is a co-founder and chairman of the SignaCare nursing home group, a class-leading owner and operator of nursing homes in Ireland.
Interests & hobbies
A lifetime fan of Manchester United and with a keen interest in all things sport, Brendan is a keen cyclist, and is a director of the Board of Cycling Ireland. He was a co-founder and Chair of the Leinster Loop, Ireland’s premier charity cycle sportive for ten years and has served as a member of the Business Leaders Forum Panel of the ACCA, tasked with selecting guest speakers and co-ordinating successful breakfast seminars, and on the Steering Committee of the Oxford Brookes MBA Summer School, which is responsible for the conceptualising of themes and content, and executing of summer schools for alumni and guests. A lover of all things Spanish, he has a keen nose for a good rioja and enjoys the culture, food and flavours of the country.
Brendan fulfilled his ambition to cycle up Alpe d’Huez and Galibier, as well as his own favourite crazy climb, Col de La Madeleine without stopping!
