Together with his wife, Esther, Brendan started the firm in 2001. Brendan qualified as a chartered certified accountant in 1992 and became a fellow of the body in 1993. Brendan completed his formal training with a local, highly reputable firm of Thomas J O’Shea & Associates, before joining Price Waterhouse in Perth, Western Australia. Brendan was appointed Head of Finance and Company Secretary with a leading seafood processing company in Fremantle, Western Australia in 1996. In this role he was instrumental in returning the company to profitability following a major organisational restructure. During this time, Brendan was a member of the Council of Co-operative Federation of WA, a supervisory body providing advice to the State Government and members.
Brendan returned to Ireland in 1999 with a view to forming a firm dedicated to providing superior services in accounting, taxation and business advisory services. With his extensive experience in both practice and industry, Brendan is an expert in accounting, business advisory, financial modeling and corporate recovery.
When not in the office, Brendan likes to spend time with Esther and their four children. He is actively involved in the underage section of his local GAA club, St Laurence’s, and is a keen cyclist and runner.
Esther, who is married to Brendan, has been part of the Firm since its founding, and is responsible for the general management and administration of the office.
Esther spent several years working in industry, and was Accountant and Head of Administration with Warren Beckwith, a former KPMG partner and mining and property tycoon who was awarded Business person of the year in Western Australia in the early 1990’s. In addition, Esther was Finance Manager with St Mark’s International College, a leading language centre in Perth, Western Australia.
Esther has widespread experience and knowledge in administration, accounting, payroll and related employment laws.
A keen swimmer, Esther likes to spend time with the four children and also enjoys reading and circuit training.
Des qualified as a chartered certified accountant in 2001 and is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants since 2006. Des has been with the Firm since 2005, having previously worked in senior roles with a number of accountancy practices in the South East, where he has gained a vast knowledge in all areas of accounting, taxation, finance and payroll.
Des worked abroad with British Airways Plc as Finance Manager for eight years, where he gained vast experience in the areas of finance, treasury and foreign exchange risk hedging and was Financial Controller with a leading Irish engineering and construction company.
In his spare time Des enjoys running, swimming and going to the cinema.
Originally from Galway, Aisling joined the Firm in 2008. Aisling graduated from GMIT Galway with a diploma in Accounting and qualified as a chartered certified accountant in 1996 and became a fellow of the ACCA in 2005. Aisling has over 15 years accounting experience across an array of business sectors including the food industry, financial services, multinational IT manufacturing and banking.
Aisling is involved in all aspects of the practice but focuses mainly on the preparation of financial statements, company secretarial services, corporate turn around and recovery consulting and general tax compliance for both personal and corporate clients.
Away from work, Aisling is a mum of two and apart from spending most of her spare time with her family she enjoys hill walking and baking.
Shiree, a native of Laois, joined the Firm in 2003 as a trainee accountant. Having completed her training with us, Shiree spent two years traveling overseas, mainly in Australia and New Zealand, before re-joining the Firm in 2007.
Shiree successfully qualified as an accounting technician in 2002 and is a full member of ATI (previously IATI).
Shiree is responsible for the preparation of financial and management accounts, the selection and implementation of accounting and payroll systems and financial modeling and dealing with general tax compliance work.
As well as enjoying travel, Shiree’s interests include playing hockey, reading and socialising with family and friends.
Eva is originally from the Czech Republic and has been living in Ireland since 2001 and joined our team in 2006. Eva qualified as an accounting technician of Ireland in 2008, achieving examination results in the top 10% in Ireland and is a full member of the Institute.
Her duties are mainly in the areas of financial and management accounts preparation, general tax compliance, secretarial and general office duties.
Eva’s interests are gardening, reading, watching documentaries, meeting up with her friends, practicing Yoga and spiritualism.
